Construction of the framework
The MKHS folding treadmill is built with a heavy-duty steel frame that is similar to that of a light-commercial treadmill. It’s made out of rectangular and oval steel tubes, as well as many long-lasting thermoplastic pieces (such as the side rail covers or the motor cover). In addition, unlike the other T series versions, it comes with an extra accessory tray that connects the two upright bars.
The treadmill is rather huge when fully completed. It measures 75′′ (190 cm) in length and 34′′ (86 cm) in width. As a result, it might not work well in a tiny space. Furthermore, for safe use, at least two feet of clearance should be left on each side and in front of the deck, and at least three feet of clearance should be left at the back of the deck.
The machine is also rather heavy. It weights about 194 lbs when all of the parts are put together (88 kg). As a result, transporting the bundled unit will necessitate at least two individuals. However, because the front base frame has transport wheels, it can simply be moved by one person once it is constructed.
This MKHS folding treadmill folds up for easy storage. It has a foldable deck that saves space. It has the FeatherLight folding system, which uses a hydraulic cylinder to slowly drop the deck when unfurled, preventing harm to the floor. The machine’s footprint is reduced to about 1/3 of its total length when the deck is folded up.
System of inclination and deck
The MKHS folding treadmill has a heavy-duty deck with a maximum user weight limit of 325 lbs (147 kg), which is quite impressive for a home treadmill. The deck is the same 3-Zone Variable Response Cushioned deck seen on the other T series treadmills. The impact zone at the front has extra padding to absorb the shock of each foot strike. The center section has moderate cushioning for a smoother transition, while the back section is slightly firmer for a better push-off.
The machine has a big 60′′L x 20′′W running surface (152 x 51 cm). As a result, it should be able to comfortably accommodate people up to 6’5′′ (196 cm) while still enabling a full range of motion. The 2-ply, 1.4 mm integrated belt has a silicone top layer for increased grip.
The integrated rollers have a tapered design that helps the belt last longer and provides better traction. They have a somewhat large diameter. The front roller is 46 mm (1.8′′) while the rear roller is 42 mm (1.65′′). For a smooth belt motion, they include high-grade sealed ball bearings.
A power incline system is included with the MKHS folding treadmill. This implies that you may alter the incline on the treadmill while jogging, and the treadmill can do so automatically as well. A small lift is integrated under the front half of the deck, and a motor drives the inclination mechanism (different from the drive motor). The lift is used by the motor to raise the front half of the deck when the incline is altered.
The incline range of the machine is 0 to 12 percent. Although it doesn’t have the same incline range as commercial-grade treadmills, it may nevertheless add a significant amount of difficulty to your exercises. The adjustments are made in 0.5 percent increments. The console incorporates slope settings for progressive adjustment, as well as incline buttons for 0%, 1%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, and 12% incline.
When the deck is adjusted to a 0% incline, the step-up height is 7 1/4′′ (18 cm). The front half of the deck is several inches higher above the floor level when the incline is adjusted to 12 percent. As a result, the machine should be used in a room with a ceiling height of at least 20′′ (51 cm) higher than the tallest user.
Motor for driving
A heavy-duty 3.0 CHP motor powers the MKHS folding treadmill . Even when used at the highest speed settings, this motor is designed to sustain long workout sessions without overheating or losing function. The drive mechanism is designed to re-calibrate with each foot strike, allowing you to maintain a consistent rhythm without experiencing surge or lag. It also has a small flywheel, which helps the belt’s stability and rotational action.
This motor, like the other machines in the MKHS folding treadmill , has a speed range of 0.5 to 12 MPH. The speed is adjusted in 0.1 MPH increments. As a result, you’ll have plenty of time to modify your pace as you move from one speed level to the next.
The console, like the inclination mechanism, has controls for both gradual and rapid adjustment. The right-hand “+” and “-” keys allow you to alter the speed by 0.1 MPH, while the fast keys let you choose between 2 MPH, 3 MPH, 4 MPH, 5 MPH, 6 MPH, 8 MPH, 10 MPH, or 12 MPH.
The MKHS folding treadmill console has an excellent list of functions. To begin with, it has two displays, one LCD and the other LED. Time, speed, incline, distance, calories, and pulse are all displayed on the top LCD display. It also displays the program’s segment grid and the distance as a 1/4 mile race track. The LED display at the bottom is separated into three portions. The incline and distance are displayed on the left, segment time and total time are displayed on the middle, and speed is displayed on the right.
Bluetooth is included into the console. As a result, you may use the AFG Sport app to connect it to your smartphone or tablet. This program has the ability to track your progress online as well as a variety of additional functions. The console can also communicate with a Bluetooth HR chest strap thanks to the Bluetooth connection. However, this item is not included.
There are eight different workout modes available on the treadmill. On the console, each workout mode has its own quick selection key. Manual, Hill Climb, My First 5K, Fat Burn, Custom, Target Distance, Target Calories, and Target Heart Rate are the training modes available. There are numerous settings or levels of difficulty in some of these workout programs. The Fat Burn mode, for example, features ten levels of difficulty, with speeds ranging from 2.5 MPH for the first level to 8 MPH for the tenth, while the Target Distance Mode has pre-set distance targets ranging from 1 mile to marathon. Three fast keys for interval programs are also available on the console. These are programmable interval buttons that allow you to tailor the treadmill to your specific workout preferences.
The personal workout fan, the sound system, the device holders, and the USB port are all important console features. Above the safety key region, the workout fan is integrated. It includes a rapid key on the console and mild cooling, which may be beneficial during a more intensive workout. Two big speakers make up the sound system. You can use Bluetooth to stream music from your smartphone or tablet through these speakers, but the console also has an AUX jack, and the box includes an AUX cable. Two shelves, one below the LCD panel and the other above it, make up the device holders. Your tablet or smartphone should be supported by them. Only the recharging function is available through the USB port. A USB stick cannot be used to import or export workout data.
Installation and upkeep
The machine’s running platform is pre-assembled, including the two (incline and drive) motors, belt, rollers, cushioning elements, and other components. As a result, all that’s left to do is connect the two upright bars, the extra accessory tray in the middle, the joint covers, and the console. It shouldn’t take you more than an hour to do this task. The assembly instructions and diagrams in the manual are straightforward and step-by-step. Also included are all of the necessary tools for the job.
The deck needs to be maintained on a regular basis and before the first use. The machine comes with a bottle of silicone lubrication. It’s also a good idea to keep the belt clean to avoid getting textile fibers or dirt caught in the motors or rollers, and to inspect the machine on a regular basis to make sure it’s still working effectively.
