Why run: the physical benefits

This article will try to explain why running is one of the best things you can do for the object you should take utmost care of: your body, regardless of whether you are undecided about starting running or already a runner looking for motivation to continue.

We will only look at a few of the main ones, but we decided to divide the benefits into physical and psychic ones.

Weight Loss

Weight loss is often the first reason for approaching running and it is the most obvious advantage. It is difficult to achieve an important calories expenditure with other sports in the same time interval, because running requires significant physical effort.

Moreover, some people have a genetic predisposition to develop obesity and if they do not reduce their weight before starting to run, they can develop more serious problems like diabetes or heart disease.

Although there are no studies that establish the relationship between the amount of fat and the risk of having cardiovascular diseases, most experts believe that the reduction of this parameter is related to a reduced incidence of these diseases.

Heart

It is not true that running only strengthens the muscles of the legs. You should be aware of the fact that the heart can also be trained. Even endurance running, even if practiced at medium intensity, increases cardiac efficiency and makes your heart stronger.

The impact of the activity on the various factors that can prevent or reduce cardiovascular problems is more important than the activity itself.

Musculoskeletal system

Both muscle and bone mass tends to decrease over the years (already after 30., much more consistently in sedentary subjects. The regular practice of physical activity allows you to drastically reduce the loss of muscle mass.

Furthermore, running, thanks to the continuous small impacts with the ground, stimulates the activity of osteoblasts, the cells responsible for the formation of bone tissue.

This translates into greater bone density with a consequent reduction in the risk of osteoporosis (especially in women).

Moreover, the improved efficiency of the musculoskeletal system considerably reduces the risk of falls and injuries related to normal daily activities. You will rarely hear of a runner (perhaps elderly) who broke his femur head!

Aging

According to research, HGH levels decrease noticeably after the age of 20 and increase noticeably after 40. This reduction in growth hormone causes the aging process to slow down, too.

By countering the decrease, the aging process can be slowed. So, not only can running improve your life, it can even help you to extend it!

Immune defenses

It’s no secret that practicing running as amateurs (the speech changes for professionals) increases the response of the immune system, both in the short and in the long term. Those who run in winter rain or even snow are not as crazy as many think.

Running simply adapts the immune system to the stresses during running and it seems that this effect, with constant practice, remains unchanged even at rest. How many “sickly” runners do you know?

Constipation

I don’t know about you, but I’m not at all familiar with these phrases, but they sure sound interesting. You see, I had never really thought about the chemicals that I’ve been using for years. I just assumed that was “just the way things were”.

Now, thanks to this book, I know a lot more about how my body works and what’s in those products and I’m curious as to why I was using them all this time. I’m hoping to learn a few new things so that I can avoid these problems in the future.  If you’re new to online marketing or ecommerce, this article is definitely for you!
